Strix Sweden
Strix was started in Sweden in 1988 and is now is one of the largest TV production companies in the Nordic countries. Strix is behind several of the biggest Swedish viewer successes in modern times – for example The Farm and Survivor.
Apart from The Farm, some examples of its own formats that Strix has developed include The Bar, Floor Filler, Harem, Paradise Lost and Tjockholmen (rather like Fat Club), all of which are broadcast in Sweden as well as in a large number of other countries. Further examples of our own program formats, which are well known to Swedish viewers, are Allt för byn (Everything for the village), Förkväll (Early Evening), Home takeover, The Peacemakers, Grotesco Royal and Class of. Among the long-running shows are Insider and Wanted, which have been broadcast for 11 and 35 seasons respectively!
Foreign program formats that have been produced by Strix in Swedish versions include Top Model and From Hotel to Castle.
Strix Sweden has received many different nominations and prizes for its productions. One example is Insider, which was the winner of Aftonbladet's TV prize in the category Best Social Program in both 2004 and 2005. In 2007, Insider and Efterlyst were both nominated in the same category. At the 2007 Kristallen TV Awards, Efterlyst's presenter Hasse Aro won the Male Presenter of the Year award. In 2006, the series Grotesco Royal won SVT's competition Humorlabbet (the Comedy Lab).
